Kick-off of Collab4Resilience Initiative: Uniting EU Projects for Stronger Scientific Communication

On April 8th, 2025, the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg), in its role as coordinator of the CheMatSustain project, successfully hosted the kick-off workshop for the new initiative Collab4Resilience – Stronger Together in Science and Sustainability. The initiative aims to strengthen collaboration among EU-funded projects working on Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) strategies and the responsible use of chemicals and nanomaterials.

The online workshop gathered over 10 projects funded under HORIZON-CL4-2023-RESILIENCE-01 and related calls. Participants joined a dynamic session designed to foster dialogue, exchange best practices, and explore avenues for joint communication and dissemination.

Led by the CheMatSustain communication team, the agenda included collaborative discussions on six core areas:

Joint presence and coordination on LinkedIn

Development of a shared newsletter

Opportunities for collaborative scientific publications

Shared YouTube content and video communication

Cross-promotion of events and resource materials

A creative brainstorming session titled “What’s still in your pockets?”

The interactive format, facilitated via a Miro board, allowed participants to engage in real time, contributing ideas and identifying practical actions to be taken forward. From aligning communication timelines to exploring joint visibility campaigns, the workshop laid a strong foundation for ongoing collaboration.

The Collab4Resilience initiative reflects CheMatSustain’s commitment to amplifying the collective impact of EU projects and supporting the transition toward a climate-neutral, sustainable, and resilient Europe. By working together, projects can increase their outreach, better inform policy discussions, and build stronger bridges between science and society.

The working group remains open to all interested projects. If your team is involved in related research or outreach and would like to join the Collab4Resilience working group, please get in touch with the CheMatSustain coordination team.

Together, we are stronger — and more impactful.
