After the fifth General Assembly, the CheMatSustain partners hosted a stakeholder event under the theme: ‘Advanced Materials: How to Go from Data to Design through the Scope of SsbD?’ on 17th of June in Valencia, Spain.The event was attended by many experts within the field, including representatives from the sister projects such as SSbD4Chem and TOXBOX, as well as others, from ITENE and other projects, such as Alchemissts.
It was divided into three sessions, each with a different focal point:
- SSbD through Databases and AI Toolboxes,
In the first session Kamal Khandelwas from Eurskrem e.V. presented the relevancy of databases in the context of Safe-and-Sustainable-by-Design (SSbD). Rafael García Meseguer from ProtoQSAR shared input on deploying AI toolboxes in the context of SSbD.
Additionally, databases from different projects were presented by Thibaut Soubrié, Milica Nikolic (TOXBOX), Massimo Perucca (INTEGRANO) and Martin Himly (PLANETS SSbD). The Hamburg University of Applied Sciences closed off the first session with a panel on how to effectively integrate Database & AI tools under the SSbD framework.

Where Milena Brouwer-Milovanovic from the IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute, and colleagues from the Technical University of Denmark presented data and environmental assessments. A look into case studies and best practices was provided by Belén Monje Martínez (REPURPOSE), Blanca María Pozuelo Rollón (SSbD4CheM) and Carlos Fito López (AlChemiSSts)
- Industry Roundtable
To close the event, we held a roundtable discussion on how databases, AI, and SSbD are reshaping industrial decision-making and innovation, with expertise from:

- Carlos Fito López (AlChemiSSts)
- Stella Stoycheva & Danail Hristozov (SUNRISE)
