CheMatSustain at ANTHOS’26 in Vienna

From 9th to 11th March, a CheMatSustain delegation attended the ‘Advanced (Nano)Materials and Technologies: From Needs to Solutions’ event (ANTHOS’26) in Vienna, Austria. The CheMatSustain project acted as one of the organizing projects, led by BioNanoNet. ANTHOS brings together researchers, industry and other organizations on the safety and sustainability of advanced materials.

The CheMatSustain team attending the event consisted of the project lead manager Jelena Barbir (HAW), Genc Alimehmeti, Mario Miozza and Alessandra Fiorucci (UNIBO), Emma Strömberg (IVL) and Anna Lia S. Tromer Dragsdahl (DTU), participating in various sessions as chairs or panelists in round tables.

Over the course of the three days, needs of different key stakeholder groups, including legislators, regulators, and implementors, were taken into focus in dedicated sessions, engaging the researchers and projects present with their development of tools and methods to create specific societal impacts.

The event concluded with a future outlook on how to best support the implementation of identified goals. The next iteration of the event, ANTHOS’27, will revise these conclusions and take a look at the progress.

Find out more about the event on the official event page or explore a summary of the Poster Pitch Session . A full summary of the ANTHOS’26 conference will be published in the next BNN Quarterly.
